Dragonware is Japanese export porcelain depicting dragons with decorations of white dots called moriage - meaning raised enamels which creates a 3-dimension effect, often likened to cake decorations.
This set is beautifully moriage-handpainted with intricately detailed and raised slip bead and trail features with enamel beading and gold overlay. Dragon spout and finial on teapot and features the Immortals who in Nippon culture represented longevity, good luck and prosperity.  They usually travelled on a dragon!
This style dates from the 1880's onwards and is known as kyo-yaki or Kyoto Satsuma with reference to the area it is made, Kyoto.
From the markings on the bottom of this set it would be dated around WW11.
The set comprises 6 cups with matching saucers, 6 plates, 1 teapot with lid, 1 jug, 1 sugar bowl with lid (23 pieces in total).
This set was purchased by a relative who was in the airforce,  from occupied Japan (WW11).  It has only ever been in the good china cabinet.
It willl bring a touch of Oriental glamour to your sideboard as well as good luck and prosperity!
