This large, very French, very early Art Deco, wall mirror measures 910 mm across and 705 mm high. The frame in which the mirror sits is carved and stained oak. The design features a mass of flowers flowing from two facing cornucopia, with silk tassels hanging from the ends of the cornucopia. Cornucopia are an ancient symbol of plenty. They can be shells or animal horns which are overflowing with flowers, fruit or cereals - the fruit of the harvest. There are a small loss of the silvering to the rear of the mirror and the tassels are replacements. It dates from the 1920's.
