This copper jug was designed during the First World war for use by the British armed forces, for tea, coffee and hot water. The capacity is 4 pints or 2.27 litres and it stands 205 mm (8 inches) high, with a diameter at the base of 152 mm (6 inches). The maker was Bulpitt and Sons of Birmingham and it is dated 1914. Originally it would have had a lid, but sadly that has gone missing. Otherwise it is in very good condition, displays very well and holds water.
